On the occasion of the opening of EU accession negotiation chapters 23 and 24, the Italian Embassy in Belgrade organised the screening of two short films on the contribution of the Directorate for Development Cooperation of the Government of Italy, the sector of social protection of children and young people in Serbia through the financing of two projects: „Strengthening institutions for the decentralisation of social services“ and “Support to the process of de-institutionalisation for children with special needs in Serbia”, which are being conducted by the Region of Emilia Romagna and UNICEF.
These two projects have contributed significantly to improving the sector of social protection for children and young people in Serbia, as well as approaching European standards in the field of human rights and thus supporting the process of European integration.
The event was attended by representatives of Italian institutions: Alessandro Neto, First Secretary of the Embassy of Italy, Paola Cordone, Cultural attaché at the Italian Cultural Institute and Tijana Kolundzija, EU Desk Officer at the Embassy of Italy.
