Company Arriva Litas, part of Deutsche Bahn, a global leader of transport and logistics services and Arriva Group which operates in 14 countries, this year offers cyclists and active holiday enthusiasts’ easy access to the magnificent biking trails in the Djerdap gorge thanks to the bus with a bicycles carrier, which daily runs on the Belgrade – Kladovo – Belgrade route.

This is an innovative concept that Arriva, in partnership with the German organization for international cooperation GIZ and the Danube Competence Center, applied on our market which increases the freedom of mobility, places more destinations within the range of cyclists and promotes cycling as an alternative to short car rides to reduce emissions of the harmful gas.

As a company that is a long-term dedication to improving the quality of passenger transportation in Serbia through different models of investments, Arriva and its partners have provided this special bus route with a carrier that can carry up to five bicycles, while the service of using the carriers is free within the purchased ticket.

Arriva bus with a bicycle carrier will operate on the Belgrade-Kladovo-Belgrade route every day in the following order:

  • from Belgrade to Kladovo:

Belgrade, 06:00 – Požarevac, 7:15 – Veliko Gradište, 8:10 – Golubac, 8:35 – Donji Milanovac, 9:45 – Kladovo, 11:00.

  • from Kladovo to Belgrade:

Kladovo, 16:15 – Donji Milanovac, 17:30 – Golubac, 18:35 – Veliko Gradište, 19:00 – Pozarevac, 19:50 – Belgrade, 21:10.

The price of the return ticket for Arriva departures on the Belgrade-Kladovo route is 2.300 RSD, while the price of tickets in one direction is 1.550 RSD.

The area of the Djerdap gorge is an exceptional biking destination, consisted of six smaller routes adapted to different groups – from the easiest for family cycling to the most extreme for true sports fans. The Djerdap bicycle route connects Kladovo and Drobeta Turnu Severin, and fifteen natural and cultural-historical attractions are mapped on this route – seven in Serbia, seven in Romania and one joint – Djerdap hydroelectric power plant. Beside this cycling route itself, cyclists can visit the Golubac fortress, as well as the archaeological site Lepenski Vir. Navigating through this incredible biking adventure is now significantly facilitated by the free Iron Gate Cycling application that is available for Android and iOS phones.
