Piraeus Bank has presented valuable cash prizes to pupils of Belgrade’s Mathematical High School who received prestigious scholarships to England’s Oxford University.

In recognition of their outstanding academic success, Piraeus Bank awarded grants worth 100,000 dinars to Katarina Petrović (18), Vuk Radović (19) and Milena Vuletić (19), who the famous university ranked among the five best young mathematicians and physicists from countries outside the European Union.

Speaking on this occasion, Piraeus Bank CEO Vojislav Lazarević said: “The scholarships you received are confirmation of your knowledge and excellence, and proof that the effort pays off. Likewise, this is simultaneously also an incentive for all of us who believe in young people, smart people, to continue to support them and to stimulate further professional and personal success.”

Piraeus Bank traditionally supports science and talented youngsters, particularly pupils of the Mathematical High School. It has rewarded the most talented students several times, and for the last five years has been the sponsor of the Mathematics Cup, a prestigious international competition that was this year held from 26th to 29th June.
