Southeast Europe is becoming a strong regional hub for civil and military aviation. Southeast Europe Aviation Summit (SEAS) was opened today at the Crown Plaza with many regional leaders of the aviation industry.

“This kind of Summit is critical for shaping the future of aviation,” said Belgrade Mayor Siniša Mali.

“Since we started Belgrade-New York flights, we carried 60,000 guests so far. That is incredibly good,” said Dane Kondić, CEO of Air Serbia.

“Industry will continue to grow at the pace of 4.5%,” said Jakob Funkenstein, Vice President of Boeing.

Other speakers were Etihad Aviation Group President and CEO James Hogan, CFO of Aegean Michael Kouveliotis, Civile Aviation Directorate of Serbia Mirjana Čizmarov, Dubrovnik Airport CEO Roko Tolić, Chief Customer Officer of Sabre Greg Gilchrist, Justin Warby of Etihad Airways and Aerospace consultant Nenad Bjelogrlić.

SEAS was attended by UAE Ambassador H.E. Juma Rashed Al Dhaheri, Ambassador of Australia H.E. Julia Feeney, Serbian Minister of Defense Zoran Đorđević.

SEAS offers insights directly from industry leaders on core issues including investment and modernization of civil aviation, MRO joint ventures and investments, the race to capture demand in the low-cost carrier segment, airport expansion plans, prospects for component production moving to Southeast Europe and technology innovation. It provides a forum for executives, governments, manufacturers and those interested in breaking into the industry to forge partnerships and move the region forward.
