American Chamber of Commerce in Serbia Elects New Board of Directors

The American Chamber of Commerce in Serbia (AmCham Serbia) has heralded a new chapter in its leadership, re-electing Stefan Lazarević as the Chairman of its Board of Directors for a subsequent two-year term

In a significant development for the Serbian business landscape, the American Chamber of Commerce in Serbia (AmCham Serbia) has announced the election of its new Board of Directors, with Stefan Lazarević continuing at the helm for another two years. Mr. Lazarević, who serves as the Vice President for Global Operations at NCR Voyix and the General Director of NCR Voyix in Serbia, embarks on his second term with a clear vision for fostering a robust, predictable, and stable business environment in Serbia.

The election, which took place during the General Assembly of AmCham Serbia, saw the selection of seven other members to the Board of Directors, signifying a collective commitment towards enhancing the Serbian economy’s competitiveness on the global stage. Notably, Darko Popović, the General Director and President of the Executive Board at Banca Intesa, has been appointed as the First Vice President, with Svetoslav Atanasov, the General Director of Coca-Cola HBC Serbia and Montenegro, assuming the role of Second Vice President.

In a year marked by unparalleled growth, AmCham Serbia has reached a record membership, now representing over 260 international and domestic companies that have collectively invested more than twenty billion euros and employ over 112,000 individuals in Serbia. This milestone underscores the chamber’s pivotal role in shaping the country’s economic trajectory and advocating for a conducive business climate.

Under the renewed leadership, AmCham Serbia pledges to continue its collaboration with the Serbian government, urging for comprehensive reforms that align with European Union standards, especially in areas critical for economic development such as digital transformation, green transition, energy independence, healthcare improvement, and financial market development.

Ambassador of the United States to Serbia, H.E. Christopher R. Hill, lauded the newly elected Board, emphasizing AmCham’s instrumental role in fortifying US-Serbia economic ties and contributing to Serbia’s economic advancement.

As AmCham Serbia charts its course for the next two years, the focus remains on leveraging the collective expertise and influence of its members to advocate for policies that enhance Serbia’s business environment, thereby accelerating the country’s European integration process and reinforcing its economic relationship with the United States.
