Serbia has announced the appointment of four ambassadors to key posts in Austria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Saudi Arabia, and at UNESCO, according to an official statement from the Serbian Government.

By the decree of President Aleksandar Vučić, Marko Blagojević is set to represent Serbia in Vienna, Ivan Todorov in Sarajevo, Dragan Bisenić in Riyadh, whilst Roksanda Ninčić has been designated the Serbian ambassador to UNESCO.

Ninčić, a University of Belgrade political sciences graduate, transitioned from journalism to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 2001. Her career trajectory includes stints at the UN in New York, heading Serbia’s mission to the EU, and spearheading the Serbian mission to the OSCE and other international bodies in Vienna. Within the Foreign Affairs Ministry, she’s been cabinet head, assistant minister for multilateral cooperation, political director, and state secretary. Ninčić is fluent in English and conversant in French.

Blagojević, a graduate from the University of Belgrade’s Faculty of Political Sciences, has had a multifaceted career spanning the private sector, the Customs Administration of Serbia, and an advisory role to the foreign minister. In 2014, he served as the general secretary of the Ministry. He previously represented Serbia in Cyprus and has been honoured with the Order of the Great Commander of Makarios III. Blagojević is proficient in English.

Ivan Todorov, once a celebrated judoka representing the former Yugoslavia and earning accolades including a European medal and an Olympic appearance in Seoul in 1988, transitioned to diplomacy post his sports career. He graduated from the University of Belgrade’s Faculty of Physical Culture and earned a doctorate from the University of Niš. His resume also includes leadership roles in sports administrations. Prior to this, he was Serbia’s ambassador to Hungary and is fluent in English.

His extensive career has seen him as a lecturer, author, and translator, with proficiency in English, Russian, and German. He has contributed to various publications, including CorD Magazine, and has been an editor and correspondent for several daily newspapers and weeklies.
