Armenia and Azerbaijan have agreed on mutual recognition of territorial integrity, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced at the Eurasian Economic Union summit in Moscow.

“We are making good progress towards the regulation of mutual relations,” said Pashinyan and at the same time reminded the issue of the rights and security of the residents of Nagorno-Karabakh within the framework of the international mechanism

“I hope that a normal, constructive dialogue between Baku and Stepanakert will soon be established.”

Pashinyan also said that Yerevan is ready to unblock communications in the South Caucasus.

“We are ready to unblock all transport and economic links in the region. We are ready to open regional communications within the sovereignty and jurisdiction of the countries through which they pass,” said the Prime Minister of Armenia.

On the other hand, the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, said that Baku has no territorial claims against Armenia.

“There is a possibility that Baku and Yerevan will reach a peace agreement, especially since Armenia has officially recognized Karabakh as part of Azerbaijan,” Aliyev said.

Aliyev added that there are serious preconditions for the normalization of relations based on mutual recognition of territorial integrity.
