The growing gaming industry in Serbia employs about 2,300 professionals and generates about 125 million euros per year, and is characterized by a large percentage of women of 30 percent, which puts Serbia in first place in Europe, where the average number of women in the gaming industry is 22 percent, according to Playstudios  Europe and the Video Game Industry Association of Serbia.

Also, the Association of the Video Game Industry of Serbia (SGA) says that domestic games have been downloaded or purchased more than 370 million times, and RPG games are the leading genre in domestic production, of which 19 percent.

They also state that the mobile game industry is growing further with the increasing popularity of so-called “casual” games, which account for 18 percent, and are intended to be fun, simple and easy to install.

The general director of Playstudios Europe, Nikola Mitić, points out that the role of the gaming industry is not only entertainment.

“With this kind of production, other similar branches such as cyber security, blockchain, artificial intelligence, cloud and e-commerce are stimulated in the long run, so this cooperation opens up space for women and other related industries,” Mitic concluded.
