The reason for his visit was to become acquainted with the work and the technological processes of the brewery, as well as hold interviews with company representatives about further cooperation and on-going investments.

Ambassador van den Dool expressed his satisfaction with the cooperation with this company, and said he is proud of the business and achievements of HEINEKEN in Serbia and the Zaječar brewery in terms of achieving high technological and ecological standards in production.

On this occasion,  Ambassador thanked the company for its continuous investments in improving operations, security, quality and the life of people in the community in which it operates: “The way Zaječarska brewery operates in Serbia makes me feel proud that I am the ambassador of the Netherlands, and I am very happy and grateful to Heineken for its support in organizing the upcoming Orange Week.”

Since 2008, when Zaječarska brewery started operating within HEINEKEN Serbia, EUR 23 million have been invested in this brewery so far, and currently the process of reconstruction and revitalization of the brewery is in progress, along with planned investments of an additional EUR 15 million over the next two years.

“We are very proud to have hosted His Excellency Henk Van den Dool and the delegation of the Embassy of the Netherlands, the country which is the seat of our company. We are pleased that they recognized the potential and importance of Zaječar brewery as a responsible member of the community in which it operates,” said Aleksandros Danilidis, CEO of HEINEKEN Serbia.

Zaječarsko beer is a brand with over 120 years of tradition and heritage. Its high quality is characteristic of this beer, for decades creating from it a brand that represents the pride of the region. Zaječarsko beer is a symbol of the Timok region and eastern Serbia, and its superb formula and reputation have contributed the beer’s overcoming regional borders.
