The Ninth Kustendorf International Film and Music Festival, which is held annually on Mokra Gora, has been officially opened by Serbian Culture Minister Ivan Tasovac and the festival’s founder, celebrated film director Emir Kusturica.
The festival’s main programme, for the Golden, Silver and Bronze Egg Awards, saw competition among 17 films by young directors from Bulgaria, China, Croatian, Hungary, Iceland, Iran, Mexico, Palestine, Russia, Serbia and Spain.
The jury comprising Claudie Ossard, a French producer, Amanda Nevill, the CEO of the British Film Institute and Alex Garcia, a film producer from Mexico, decided about the winners: The Golden Egg – Giacomo Abbruzzese for the film Stella Maris; The Silver Egg – Marko Sopić for the film The Bag and the Bronze Egg – Guðmundur Arnar Guðmundsson for the film Whale Valley.
