Whatever else the modern world may be this is certainly an interesting place for the artist who no longer has to limit their creativity to the canvas but can take their brush to the human body, painting images that both accentuate and disguise the natural.

The festival has a very long tradition. Artists from more than 50 different nations gave their best to stun and entertain visitors at the 20th anniversary of the Austrian World Bodypainting Festival (28th – 30th July), the world championships for Bodypainters.

The whole festival week started on July 28th offered a cumulative programme with workshops, art exhibition, the zombie walk and the surreal ball Body Circus.

The festival came to its peak with the huge spectacle of the World Championships as well as more than 60 bands and DJs.
