On the night between Saturday, 9 June and Sunday, 10 June at 01:30, the BEG 5K Runway Run race was held with around 600 competitors.

The event was hosted by the Airport Nikola Tesla Belgrade and organized by the Belgrade Marathon under the auspices of the City of Belgrade.

This is the first time in the region such an event has been organized on an airport runway, and it fulfilled the expectations of both participants and organizers.

The organization of the race in the night conditions, in the secure restricted zone and in the short period in which the Airport Nikola Tesla Belgrade was closed for air traffic, was a big challenge for the organizers, but according to everyone the event exceeded expectations.

It was also announced that “Belgrade on the Runway” will become a traditional event and will take place again in June 2019.
