Siemens has successfully finalised the acquisition of Milanović inženjering, a manufacturer of aluminium parts for the bodywork of rail vehicles in Kragujevac.

Approval was received from the authorities for the protection of competition, and all the conditions set beforehand for the acquisition were fulfilled.

By this acquisition, Siemens has created an optimal position for all future projects on the competitive rail market.

“Acquiring the company Milanović inženjering is above all a benefit for our clients and strengthens Siemens’ international manufacturing network in the rail industry and our position in Serbia. We are very satisfied with the fact that this is Siemens’ second factory in Serbia and we look forward to continuing our successful work”, announced Udo Eichlinger, managing director of Siemens Serbia.

“Joining the Siemens family is an exceptional opportunity, not only for our team but even more for the town of Kragujevac and the whole Šumadija region”, said Bratislav Milanović, owner of the company Milanović inženjering.

This business transaction covers the operations of Milanović inženjering with the exception of the unit that deals with water treatment. Founded in 2001, the company’s turnover in 2016 was 15.3 million euros. It currently employs around 430 staff.
