Ambassador of Japan to Serbia H.E. Imamura emphasized the readiness of Japanese companies to share their knowledge and experience with Serbian energy firms, particularly in developing new renewable energy capacities, balancing, and energy storage. Such collaboration, he noted, is crucial for the modernization and sustainability of the energy system.

Japan has expressed its willingness to significantly contribute to and support Serbia’s new investment plan aimed at fostering economic growth, modernization, and transition to a green economy, according to Ambassador Akira Imamura. In discussions with Serbia’s Minister of Mining and Energy, Dubravka Đedović Handanović, they explored joint projects in the realms of energy and environmental protection.

Ambassador Imamura highlighted the longstanding, high-quality relationship between Japan and Serbia and expressed satisfaction with the mutual interest in collaboration. This includes the construction and financing of the Bistrica Pumped-Storage Hydroelectric Plant (RHE Bistrica) and other energy projects. He pointed out Japan’s advanced energy storage technology as a key area of collaboration.
