The German Ambassador to Serbia H.E Axel Dittmann opened the German Energiewende / Energy Transition exhibition at the third international renewable energy and energy efficiency fair RENEXPO Western Balkans.

This is the first time that the exhibition was showcased in the Balkans. Previously, it had been held only in China. Through interactive presentations, the exhibition showed energy transition in Germany which, following the accident in Fukushima, Japan, voiced its opposition to nuclear energy in favour of renewable energy resources.

The energy transition is also Germany’s most important contribution towards mitigating climate change and imposes huge technical, logistic and financial challenges on the country. It also provides a great opportunity for both the national and international economies.

“Energy transition is Germany’s response to climate change. We have denounced nuclear energy and turned towards renewable energy resources. Thus, the German energy supply becomes safe for the future, sustainable and efficient”, said Ambassador Dittmann.
