New Brazilian Ambassador to Serbia

H.E. Isabel Cristina de Azevedo Heyvaert graduated from the University of Brasilia in 1976 with a degree in business administration, followed by a degree in international relations from the Brazilian Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ “Rio Branco Institute”.

From 1987 to 1990 she served as Second Secretary at the Brazilian Embassy in Yaoundé, Cameroon, and in 1990 she was appointed Consul at the Consulate General in Milan, Italy.

In 2000 Ms Heyvaert was the First Secretary in Maputo, Mozambique, and from 2001 to 2005 she served as the First Secretary at the Embassy of Brazil in Lisbon, Portugal.

From 2005 to 2007 she was Counsellor in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, and between 2007 and 2009 Ms Heyvaert was Counsellor of the Brazilian Delegation to the ONU in New York.

Prior to her arrival in Serbia, she served for five years as ambassador to Ethiopia and the African Union Commission.
