Indeed, the main attractions are mountains, sea and art heritage cities. The richest artistic heritage in the world, the warmth of the Mediterranean, breathtaking landscapes, an extraordinary variety of flavours and great events: this is Italy, a land of art and history. Italy has been a centre of history, culture and art since antiquity.

Numerous museums, collections and archaeological sites reveal countless tokens of the past and the many civilisations that have prospered in this country, evidence of which is still inextricably woven into the present day landscape.

Alitalia and Air Serbia offer direct flights from Belgrade to Rome, Milan and Venice, but the relative proximity prompts many tourists to chose other ways to reach their favourite Italian destinations!

CULTURE: Italy has more cultural UNESCO World Heritage Sites than any other country. The Italian art cities are some of the most visited destinations in international cultural tourism. Rome, Florence, Assisi, Venice, Siena, Pisa and Naples are its most renowned cities of art, but the whole country can boast towns of breathtaking beauty.

Italy has 95,000 monumental churches, 40,000 forts and castles, 30,000 historical residences with 4,000 gardens, 36,000 archives and libraries, 20,000 historical cities and towns, and 5,600 museums and archaeological sites.

SEA: with its 7,500 km of coastline, Italy is the ideal place for sea lovers. A wide variety of beaches makes it perfect for every type of tourist in search of nature and fun.

INLAND ITALY: in all its territorial diversity, Italy boasts a large number of beautiful and evocative mountain areas that can be visited at any time of the year. From north to south, the Italian mountains offer tourists magnificent landscapes: high altitude lakes, incredible forests, enchanting villages rich in history, traditions and, of course, gastronomic pleasures.

FOOD: Italy has always been synonymous with “good food”, offering an unmistakable explosion of flavours, textures and aromas. Aside from having one of the world’s most famous cuisines, it also offers an immense variety of different regional dishes and recipes and great wines that ensure Italy is among the world’s main wine exporters.
