In presence Aleksandar Vucic, president of Serbia, Ralf Maus, Executive Vicepresident of Leoni the leading European producer of wires, cables and cable systems, Leoni, had opened in Nis its third plant in Serbia, starting the first phase of production.
Value of this investment is €22 million and there will be employed, 2.200 people. In the factory that is placed on 22.000 square meters, will be produced cable sets for BMW cars.
Leoni operates in Serbia since 2009, when in Prokuplje founded the plant for the production of wiring systems for BMW. Later on, in 2014, in Malosiste, in Doljevac Municipality, was founded the plant for automotive cable production for Land Rover and Jaguar.
The value of all Leoni investments in Serbia is €75 million. Including new plant in Nis, Leoni will soon employ almost 8.000 people and will become the biggest employer in the production sector in Serbia.
At the opening event were also present General Manager of Leoni Wiring Systems Southeast d.o.o, Clemens Sachs, Minister of Economy, Goran Knezevic, Deputy German Ambassador, Alexander Jung, Mayor of Nis, Darko Bulatovic and other high officials.
