Prime Minister Ana Brnabic welcomed today her Czech counterpart Andrej Babis, who arrived on a one-day visit to Serbia.

The official reception for the Czech Prime Minister was organised in front of the Palace of Serbia, with the playing of anthems of the two countries and the lining up of the Guard of the Serbian Army.

The focus of the conversation was on health issues, the fight against kovid, mass immunization. I am glad to host the Prime Minister of the Czech Republic because our countries have excellent relations.

The Czech Republic is one of the countries that are the biggest promoters of EU enlargement to the Western Balkans.

“The Czech Republic provides an excellent example of regional cooperation. As the Prime Minister, I have a lot to learn from Prime Minister Babis” said the Prime Minister.

The Prime Minister emphasized that the focus of the talks was the fight against the corona virus.

– Today, after the meeting with President Vučić, we will visit the point for mass vaccination at the Belgrade Fair together. So far, we have changed the protocol for the treatment of those infected with the corona virus 10 times, which is why our country is so successful in this fight. We shared this information with Czech friends. I think that the success and the number of hospitalized people, as well as the use of innovative drugs, is a fast approval process, but what is most important are vaccines and mass immunization. It is important that we share knowledge with our friends in order to get out of this crisis as soon as possible – said the Prime Minister.

The Czech Prime Minister said that he was glad to have the opportunity to visit Serbia and emphasized that our country is an important strategic partner for the Czech Republic, as well as that it strongly supports our European path.

– I am glad that I had the opportunity to visit Serbia. I came with a delegation of experts for the sake of kovid, to share experiences with our friends in the fight against the virus. Serbia is an important partner of the Czech Republic and we support its European path. Serbia has vaccinated more than half a million people, it is second in Europe and seventh in the world. We intend to visit a mass vaccination center. Our investors are very active here and I think they have a good reputation, that is very important. Our relations are friendly and I highly appreciate them – said Babiš.

The Czech Prime Minister will also meet today with Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic and later in the day prime ministers Brnabic and Babis will visit the vaccination sites in Hall 3 of the Belgrade Fair.
