Russia is trying to use every opportunity to reach an agreement with Ukraine, said Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.
“The chances of reaching an agreement are always present, I have said that many times. We intend to use all these opportunities. The goals of our operation were announced by President Vladimir Putin, and we are working on incorporating these goals into the agreement we are discussing and preparing. I hope that in the end it will be completed and finally formulated on every point”, said Lavrov, according to TASS.
Elsewhere, the United States will ask the United Nations General Assembly to suspend Russia from the Human Rights Council, said American ambassador to the UN Linda Thomas-Greenfield.
“Russia’s participation in the Human Rights Council is a farce. And that is wrong, which is why we believe it is time for the UN General Assembly to vote to remove it”, Reuters quoted Thomas-Greenfield as saying during a visit to Romania.
Since the beginning of the Russian military operation in Ukraine, the UN General Assembly has adopted two resolutions condemning Russia with at least 140 votes in favour.
