NASA satellite images reveal that smog in Pakistan is so severe it can be seen from space, as the country battles record levels of air pollution.
The images show the eastern part of Pakistan blanketed in toxic haze, with the smog extending into northern regions of India, including New Delhi.
Lahore, the capital of Pakistan’s Punjab region with a population of 14 million, recorded an air quality index of over 400 on Tuesday morning, according to IQAir, a global air quality tracking site.
Any reading above 300 is considered hazardous, while levels between 0 and 50 are deemed good.
Earlier in November, parts of Lahore recorded levels surpassing 1,900, reports Sky News.
