Natural gas stocks in European warehouses amounted to more than 60 percent of capacity on March 1, which is the highest amount recorded for this period of the year, Gas Infrastructure Europe (GIE) announced.

According to estimates, there are 66.1 billion cubic meters of gas in the warehouses, which is twice as much compared to the same period of the previous heating season.

In the previous season, gas stocks fell below 60 percent already in mid-December, and Europe has the most gas in storage since 2011 at the beginning of March.
