Norway exported a record amount of natural gas in 2024 and is expected to maintain near-record levels in the coming years, according to official data reported by Reuters.
Since the onset of the war in Ukraine in 2022, Norway has become Europe’s largest supplier of natural gas, accounting for approximately 30% of the European Union’s total gas imports.
The country’s total gas production, including pipeline deliveries and liquefied natural gas (LNG) shipped by sea, rose by 6.9% last year to a record 124 billion cubic meters, according to the Norwegian Coastal Directorate (NOD).
