Dutch energy sector market leader Essent is taking over green energy provider Vandebron, the two companies confirmed. Financial details have yet to be disclosed.
Vandebron, a niche player on the energy market, has some 200,000 customers and had always resisted being part of a larger group.
Essent, with over 2.5 million customers in the Netherlands, is in turn owned by German energy giant RWE. Vandebron was founded in 2013 and focuses on local energy production.
