A tide of change is sweeping the nation, proclaimed Donald Trump during his second inauguration as the 47th President of the United States. In a historic ceremony held inside the Capitol Rotunda due to freezing temperatures, Trump assured Americans that a new era of national success was beginning, declaring the country’s period of decline officially over.
“The golden age of America begins now,” Trump announced. “From this day forward, our nation will flourish and be respected worldwide. We will no longer allow ourselves to be exploited. Every single day of this administration, I will simply put America first.”
Trump promised to restore U.S. sovereignty and national security, pledging to end the “malicious and unjust” use of the Department of Justice for political conflicts. “The scales of justice will be balanced again,” he said. “Our top priority is to create a nation that is proud, prosperous, and free.”

He also vowed that his administration would not use government powers to target political opponents, referencing his own experiences of being pursued by the Biden administration.
In a moment of gratitude, Trump extended his thanks to African American and Latino voters, who provided Republican support at unprecedented levels. He noted the significance of being inaugurated on Martin Luther King Jr. Day, expressing his administration’s commitment to making King’s dream a reality.
Trump reflected on the challenges he faced over the last eight years, including an assassination attempt during the campaign. “A few months ago, on a beautiful field in Pennsylvania, a bullet pierced my ear. But I felt then, and believe even more now, that my life was saved for a reason. God saved me to make America great again.”
Trump plans to sign over 200 executive orders on his first day in office, focusing on border security, energy independence, reducing family costs, and ending identity politics. He announced intentions to withdraw from the Paris Climate Agreement, repeal the Green New Deal, and halt federal mandates on electric vehicles.
Amid heightened security due to political violence, including two assassination attempts on Trump, the inauguration was attended by former presidents Biden, Obama, Bush, and Clinton, as well as business magnates Elon Musk, Jeff Bezos, and Mark Zuckerberg.
For the first time in 40 years, the traditional parade along Pennsylvania Avenue was relocated indoors to the Capital One Arena, followed by the president’s attendance at the inaugural balls.
As Trump embarks on his second term, his promises of sweeping reforms and a renewed national identity mark the beginning of a transformative chapter in U.S. history.
