Mensa Serbia said on Tuesday that a Serbian doctoral candidate headed the team that won silver at the China International College Students Internet+ Innovation and Entrepreneurship championship.

The competition between 6.3 million competitors from 117 countries was held online because of the coronavirus pandemic.

The mixed team from the Novi Sad University in Serbia and the Chinese Shenzhen University, headed by Mijat Kustudic (a graduate of Novi Sad University doing his doctorate at Shenzhen) won silver in the innovations category with the CDNBye/ Cross-Platform P2P Streaming Engine for Videos project. The team scored highest of all teams from both universities.

The silver medal project was chosen from 1.47 submitted projects submitted by students from 4,186 universitites across the world. Mensa Serbia said that a record high number of projects were submitted this year.
