Serbia has achieved a record-breaking €5.1 billion in foreign direct investments this year, according to Finance Minister Siniša Mali.
Speaking on TV Prva, Mali highlighted that the figure, recorded as of 21 December, marks the highest influx of foreign investments in the country’s history.
“This is an extraordinary achievement for Serbia, especially given the challenges we’ve faced, from the COVID-19 pandemic to the conflict in Ukraine, the energy crisis, and negative growth rates in EU countries,” Mali said.
He emphasized that investments are coming from across the globe, including Europe, China, Japan, and South Korea. Notably, over 60% of all foreign investments in the Western Balkans are directed toward Serbia, solidifying its position as a regional leader in attracting capital.
