Serbia has been elected to the Executive Board of the World Health Organization (WHO) at the 74th session of the Regional Committee, held from 29 to 31 October in Copenhagen.
The Serbian government announced that Serbia was chosen by a majority vote from 53 WHO member states in the European region.
The WHO European Executive Board has eight members, each elected for a three-year term. Its main function is to implement the decisions and policies of the World Health Assembly, advise on its operations, and facilitate its activities.
Alongside Serbia, Kazakhstan and Armenia were also candidates for a seat on the board.
