Serbia and Israel have signed a Memorandum of Understanding in Belgrade to strengthen cooperation between their respective ministries in the fields of telecommunications and postal services.
The Serbian government highlighted that the agreement outlines steps for collaboration in developing the ICT sector, information security, telecommunications infrastructure, and the advancement of 5G networks and high-speed optical internet.
Israeli Minister of Communications Shlomo Karhi emphasized that the Memorandum represents a significant step forward, reflecting a shared vision for advancing the ICT sector, information security, and economic growth.

“Important agreements have also been reached in areas such as artificial intelligence development and online child safety. We recognize the necessity of continuous ICT sector development and digitalization, and I believe our joint efforts will help us move forward toward that goal,” Karhi stated.
By signing the Memorandum, both parties committed to fostering connections among public and private entities, educational and research institutions, legal entities, and other relevant organizations and experts to explore scientific and technical issues related to telecommunications and postal services.
The agreement also encourages the exchange of information on liberalization programs and investment opportunities in telecommunications and postal services that could be of mutual interest. The aim is to promote the participation of companies from one country in projects undertaken in the other.
During his official visit, Karhi is scheduled to tour the Science and Technology Park in Belgrade and the National Data Center in Kragujevac. He will also visit the “Kragujevac October Memorial Park,” where he will pay tribute to Serbian and Jewish victims who perished at the site on 21 October 1941.
