Poland supports Serbia’s European path, and the European Union is not complete without Serbia, stated Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk during an official visit to Belgrade.
At a joint press conference with Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić, Tusk reminded that Poland will soon take over the presidency of the European Union, and during its presidency, enlargement and the closest possible cooperation with Serbia will be a priority.
He added that Poland welcomes Serbia’s economic success and supports regional cooperation, particularly the Open Balkan initiative and the Berlin Process.

“We are also aware of the ambitious plans Serbia has regarding the Growth Plan, aiming to accelerate its European path,” emphasized the Polish Prime Minister.
Tusk, who began his address by speaking in Serbian, stressed that bilateral relations with Serbia are important to Poland, particularly in terms of strengthening economic cooperation.
During the press conference, the President of Serbia emphasized that Poland is a partner of exceptional importance to Serbia, not only for its European path but also in terms of bilateral relations and trade exchange.
“Poland is a significant economic partner for Serbia; the trade exchange between the two countries in 2023 amounted to more than two billion euros,” Vučić said, expressing his expectation that trade exchange will increase in the coming months.
According to him, ten years ago, Poland ranked 27th as a partner, but today it is in seventh, eighth, or ninth place, demonstrating Poland’s growing influence in Serbia, particularly in the economic sector.
