The Serbian Chamber of Commerce (PKS), in collaboration with the Swiss-Serbian startup Relio, will soon bring some of the world’s largest accelerators to Belgrade.
These accelerators will provide domestic startups with high growth potential easier and faster access to venture capital (VC) funds, enabling their expansion in global markets, announced PKS President Marko Čadež during the “Economy First” panel at the CEO Summit in Belgrade.
In a discussion with Lav Odorović, co-founder, CEO of Relio, and honorary representative of PKS in Switzerland, Čadež noted that the way businesses are financed globally has changed significantly. Today, even small businesses from small countries can become global players with access to VC funds.
“Although a bank-centric system dominates both globally and locally, VC funds enable the creation of small innovative companies. It’s no longer enough to have just space and money; startups need conditions to bring their ideas to market,” said Čadež.
PKS further stated that Relio will bring renowned global accelerators to Belgrade to help domestic startups accelerate their development, prepare for investments, and strengthen their business models.
