Elektroprivreda Srbije (EPS) is set to connect its first solar park, “Petka,” located in Kostolac, to the power grid within the first quarter of 2025. The announcement was made by Serbia’s Minister of Mining and Energy, Dubravka Đedović Handanović, during her visit to the construction site.

The minister also revealed that EPS’s first wind farm is expected to become operational next year, further diversifying Serbia’s energy production.

Situated on an old mining landfill, the “Petka” solar park marks a transformative step for EPS, with additional solar projects planned. Đedović Handanović highlighted an ambitious project underway: a 1,000 MW solar facility with 200 MW of battery storage, which she described as a game-changer for the company’s energy portfolio.
