A total of 89 Serbian scientists have been ranked among the world’s 217,097 most influential researchers, according to the latest list published by Stanford University in the United States.

As reported by the portal Danas, Ivan Gutman from the University of Kragujevac is the highest-ranked Serbian researcher for his entire career, followed by Branislav Jeremić, also from the University of Kragujevac, Sergej Ostojić from the University of Novi Sad, Dragan Pamučar from the University of Belgrade, and Miroslav Dramićanin from the Vinča Institute of Nuclear Sciences.

Other notable scientists in the top ten from Serbia include Zaviša Janjić and Dušan Teodorović from the University of Belgrade, Dalibor Petković from the University of Niš, Ljubomir Ćirić from the University of Belgrade, and Miomir Vukobratović from the “Mihailo Pupin” Institute. The researchers were ranked based on their career-long achievements, including both active and deceased scientists whose work continues to be cited today.
