The “Balkan Cheese Festival”, the 8th exhibition of autochthonous cheeses of the Balkans, will be held on the weekend of October 13 and 14 in the premises of the Youth Center of Belgrade, partner of this event. This year’s country guest is the Netherlands a country known for the production of cheese, which will have its presentation at the event.
Visitors will be able to taste hundreds of the rare and unusual kinds of cheeses from Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, France and Croatia, enjoy top quality wines and delicacies. This year festival will present for the first time a goat cheese in the Irish Guinness beer.
Young cheese making presentations as well as lectures will be available at the festival.
Saturday, October 13:
12:30 pm: “Dutch tradition: cheese production on farms”
14 hours: “The history of Dutch cheese”
Sunday, October 14:
16 hours: “Old meals made of cheese and dairy products as part of the non-material cultural heritage of Serbia”
The award ceremony for the best cheeses voted by the audience, the most beautiful booth and the most beautiful plate of cheeses will be held on Sunday, October 14 at 7 pm.
The working hours of the “Balkan Cheese Festival” will be from 10 am to 8 pm on Saturdays and Sundays. Opening Ceremony is on Saturday at 11 am.
The price of a one-day ticket is 250 rsd (includes cheese and delicacy tasting at all exhibition stands) and will be available at the Belgrade Youth Center.
