The prevalent theme of the forthcoming 53rd BITEF is the overall breakdown both of the society and smaller communities as well as the possibility of their renewal.
Its artistic line will endeavour to erase the boundaries between the stage and the auditorium, the performers and the audience.
Ivan Medenica, the artistic director of BITEF announced at the central BITEF conference in Brussels that these two lines of the 53rd BITEF are manifest in two Belgian productions: Orest in Mossul directed by Milo Rau at the National Theatre in Ghent and Invited by choreographer Seppe Baeyens.
