Minister of Economy Goran Knežević officially opened a factory today for the production of various types of heaters. Zoppas in Kikinda employs more than 400 workers.
Minister Knežević, Vojvodina Prime Minister Igor Mirović, Mayor of Kikinda Pavle Markov and Zoppas’ Director for Serbia and Romania Karmen Rusmir cut the tape together, officially putting the €2.4 million factory into operation.
Knežević pointed out that this is already the third factory in Kikinda that has been opened in the last three years. He said that each new factory contributes to achieving one of the Government’s most important goals – reducing the unemployment rate.
“In the last three years, the unemployment rate has fallen from 26 to 11.8 per cent. We will continue to work further to reduce unemployment, so this rate reaches a level below the European average”, said Knežević.
Speaking about Zoppas as an investment facilitated by state incentives, the minister said that this practice would continue.
