Director of the Office for IT and eGovernment, Assist. Dr. Mihailo Jovanovic, at the invitation of the Minister of Science and Technology Development, Higher Education and Information Society of the RS, Srdjan Rajcevic, visited Banja Luka.

The visit was organized on the initiative of the President of the Republika Srpska, Željka Cvijanović and the Prime Minister of the Republic of Serbia, Ana Brnabić, related to the modernization and digitization of the teaching process in the Republika Srpska and the support of the Republic of Serbia in the process of digitization of public administration.

The meeting was also attended by Natalija Trivic, Minister of Education and Culture in Republika Srpska, and Sasa Stojanovic, Assistant Minister for Digitization in Education of the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology in the Government of the Republic of Serbia.

As a result of the good cooperation between the Republic of Serbia and the Republic of Srpska, the purpose of the visit was the final arrangements regarding the inclusion of the Republic of Srpska in the Digital Transformation Knowledge Transition Program “Serbia Digitizes”, as well as the assistance of the Republic of Serbia of 500 digital classrooms in elementary schools in Republika Srpska.

“The exchange of knowledge, ideas and experiences are what we strive for and it is natural for the Republika Srpska and Serbia, but also crucial for the development of the entire Western Balkans region. It is indisputable that only together we can move faster, and today’s meeting is another important indicator that the results of the Government of the Republic of Serbia in the field of digitization and public administration reform are recognized in the region and the world,” said Jovanovic.

In July in Skopje (North Macedonia), doc. Mihailo Jovanovic, PhD, Director of the Office for Information Technology and Electronic Governance and Damjan Manchevski, Minister of Information Society and Administration in the Government of the Republic of North Macedonia, have signed an agreement in the field of digital transformation and knowledge transfer regarding the new concept of the Government of the Republic of Serbia web site, as well as establishing a Citizens’ Contact Center.
