World Health Organisation Regional Director for Europe, Dr. Hans Kluge, who arrived in Serbia yesterday, stated that the Republic of Serbia is very well prepared for the potential occurrence of Corona Virus.

WHO Emergency Team in Serbia has closely collaborated with national experts on the approximation of readiness of international airports and health institutions for an outbreak of Coronavirus COVID-19. It is a great pleasure to inform you that the feedback information which we have got from our team is very positive’, Dr. Kluge said.

‘During 2018,’ he explains, ‘international independent group for evaluation confirmed that the capacities of Serbia to prevent emergent situations and crises are in accordance with International Health Regulations.’

‘That approximation has shown that the Republic of Serbia is well prepared to confront all types of dangers and emergent situations in connection with health, including outbreaks of epidemics which can be dangerous globally.’

He emphasized that infectious diseases know no bounds and that no country is immune to Coronavirus.
