A landmark Memorandum of Cooperation has been signed at the US Congress, uniting the Chambers of Commerce of the Western Balkans in a concerted effort to promote the region as a prime tourism destination for American visitors.
The announcement was made by the Serbian Chamber of Commerce (PKS), with the signing conducted by Mihailo Vesović, Director of Strategic Analysis, Services, and Internationalization.
Vesović emphasized that this agreement marks a pivotal first step in redefining the Western Balkans’ image among the American public and boosting Serbia’s visibility, the largest market in the region, across other economic sectors as well. The signing occurred during the Southeast Europe Economic Forum, organized by the Transatlantic Leadership Network and the Atlantic Council’s Europe Center in Washington, D.C., in collaboration with the Institute for Policy and Economy of Southeast Europe from Belgrade.
The forum gathered state officials, chamber representatives, US business associations, and experts on the Western Balkans to discuss economic cooperation, integration under the EU’s “New Growth Plan,” and the challenges facing the business community.
