A World Bank entrepreneurship survey has shown that Serbian citizens believe it is too risky to start a business, World Bank Country Manager for Serbia said Monday, advising that the government should continue making effort to simplify administrative procedures and make starting a business easier for people.

Tony Verheijen told Radio Television of Serbia that the World Bank was offering direct support to entrepreneurs and was investing in the private sector.

Verheijen said that Serbian citizens feared market instability, advising that Serbia should be presenting role model entrepreneurs in the media like do it in the United States as an encouragement.

Verheijen stressed that the pace of reforms should be stepped up and that it was vital they regained momentum quickly after the elections.
