In a visit seen as a key moment for regional diplomacy and human rights engagement, UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Volker Türk has arrived in Belgrade for a two-day official mission.
He is expected to hold talks with Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić, newly appointed Prime Minister Đuro Macut, and National Assembly Speaker Ana Brnabić.
Türk will also meet with representatives of civil society, the diplomatic corps, and the UN country team in Serbia — part of a broader regional tour that will include neighbouring Montenegro.
While no formal agreements are anticipated, Türk’s presence signals renewed UN attention to the region’s human rights landscape and the importance of inclusive dialogue in strengthening democratic resilience.
