Unified Education Information System in March 2020

Unified Education Information System JISP in March 2020

Serbia set to launch the Unified Education Information System (JISP) in March 2020.

The system will enable the state to have an insight into the complete education course of each student, from enrollment to the completion of education until the employment, it was confirmed by Prime Minister Ana Brnabic.

Prime Minister Brnabic said that the System represents the biggest reform of the Serbian education sector in decades.

“This system will allow us in Serbia for the first time to have an accurate overview of how many students we have, what schools they attend, what schools they go to after completing primary schools, what they do after that, whether they enrol in colleges or enter the job market, how fast they are getting jobs and where, and what their average salary is, “Brnabic told Tanjug.

“By assigning a unique education number to each student in Serbia in March next year the first phase of the project will be completed,” she said.

The data will be linked to the Central Register of Compulsory Social Security, which will enable the state to identify the needs of the economy and see how long it takes graduates to get a job.

The Prime Minister also announced that from 1 September 2019 10,000 digital classrooms in 500 schools in the country will start operating, which will include more than 200,000 students.

This project, she said, is implemented in cooperation with the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development, the Ministry of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications, the Academic Network of Serbia, Telekom Serbia and the Office for Information Technology and eGovernment.
