Swedish Prime Minister Stefan Löfven said in Belgrade late on Monday that he had come to Serbia to commend its development, noting that Sweden is supporting Serbia’s path towards the European Union.
“We already have a very strong relationship and we have some 80 companies and distributors present in this country and, of course, I know that our export is twice as high as Serbia’s export to Sweden, so there is potential for Serbia to export more to Sweden,” said Löfven, who took a stroll around Kalemegdan Fortress and Knez Mihailova Street with his host and counterpart, Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vučić.
“We will expand and develop our trade and cooperation, our trade will develop,” he said. “We will also cooperate on the issue of migrants and the refugee crisis, in which Serbia has taken a huge responsibility. It is very good that Serbia and the prime minister are also very careful about developing good relations within the neighbourhood, which is very important for the whole of Europe,” said Prime Minister Löfven.
Prime Minister Löfven also met with Swedish Ambassador to Serbia H.E.Lundin, as well as directors of Ikea, Ericsson, Securitas and AstraZeneca.
