On the occasion of handing over the presidency of the Council of the European Union from the Netherlands to Slovakia, a ceremony was organised in Belgrade.

It was hosted by H.E. Slovakian Ambassador Dagmar Repčeková, H.E. Dutch Ambassador Hendrik van den Dool, Deputy Head of the EU Delegation to Serbia, Oscar Benedict, ambassadors of EU member states and representatives of the Serbian government and NGO sector.

The Dutch Ambassador wished his Slovakian counterpart luck, strength and effort in “steering the ship”.

“When it comes to the Netherlands, it will continue very strongly to support Serbia on its European path and will stand shoulder to shoulder with the country,” said Ambassador van den Dool.

The ceremony was organised by the embassies of the Slovak Republic and the Netherlands, in cooperation with the EU Delegation and the EU info centre.
