The XII Regional Summit of Governors, Ministers of Finance, and Directors of Tax Administrations was ceremoniously opened in Bečići, bringing together key financial leaders from the region, the EU, and international institutions.
The summit is held under the auspices of the Central Bank, the Ministry of Finance, and the Tax Administration of Montenegro. It was opened by the Governor of the Central Bank of Montenegro, Dr. Irena Radović; Gert Jan Kopman from the European Commission; and Aleksandar Vlahović from the Association of Economists of Serbia.
Governor Radović emphasized the importance of regional dialogue in addressing global challenges, such as energy security and climate risks. She underlined that the SEPA initiative represents a key opportunity for the digital and financial integration of the Western Balkans with the EU.
Kopman praised Montenegro’s efforts in implementing the SEPA system, while Vlahović highlighted the need for structural reforms to accelerate the region’s economic convergence with the EU.
The summit concluded with a call to strengthen cooperation, institutional resilience, and digital interoperability, aiming to create a more stable and competitive economic environment.
