Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić awarded Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán with the Order of the Republic of Serbia, for outstanding services in developing and strengthening peaceful cooperation and friendly relations between the two countries.
“I am honored with this recognition and will continue to work in the interest of Serbian-Hungarian friendship,” said Viktor Orbán, addressing journalists after the meeting with Vučić, and added “Hungary and Serbia have a common job, which is to defend the southern door of Europe. That is the mission of our two countries. History, geography and centuries-old friendship bind the two peoples. Thank you for considering me worthy of Serbia’s award. When we work in the interests of Serbian-Hungarian friendship, we work to fulfill the old understanding that Hungary and Serbia must be friends”.
