According to the final data of the Monstat Administration of Statistics, the total foreign trade in goods of Montenegro last year amounted to 4.23 billion euros, which is 43.9 percent more than in 2021, and the largest foreign trade partners in exports were Serbia, Switzerland and Bosnia and Herzegovina, while imports were led by Serbia, China and Greece.

It was announced from Monstat that exported goods were worth 700.3 million euros, which is 60.2 percent more compared to the comparative period. Imports were 41.1 percent higher and amounted to 3.53 billion euros.

“The coverage of imports by exports amounted to 19.8 percent and is higher compared to the same period of the previous year when it amounted to 17.4 percent,” the announcement states.

Mineral fuels and lubricants are the most represented in the export structure, while machines and transport devices are the most represented in the import structure.

The largest foreign trade partners in exports were Serbia with 149.4 million euros, Switzerland (108) and Bosnia and Herzegovina (90.6). The largest foreign trade partners in imports were Serbia with 614.8 million euros, China (330.6) and Greece (289.1).

Foreign trade in goods was the largest with the signatories of the Central European Free Trade Area Agreement (CEFTA) and with the European Union (EU).
