European business associations and bilateral chambers have established the Council of European Business Associations and Chambers in Serbia (CEBAC), aimed at fostering economic collaboration and representing European business interests.
The initiative was inaugurated with a signing ceremony attended by European Commissioner for Enlargement, Oliver Varhelyi, and various ambassadors, emphasizing the strengthening of “Team Europe” in the region.
CEBAC’s primary goal is to enhance the legal and competitive business framework to support both international and local companies in Serbia. The council also seeks to improve bilateral trade, ensuring that commerce is not one-directional between Serbia and other European nations. With over 5,000 European-capital companies in Serbia creating significant employment, the council is set to be a crucial advocate for economic ties.
The founding members include a diverse range of business groups such as the Belgian-Serbian Business Association and the German-Serbian Chamber of Commerce. CEBAC extends an inclusive invitation to other organizations interested in supporting European business efforts in Serbia. The launch will be celebrated with a ‘European Networking Cocktail’ event, fostering further collaboration among the member companies.
