The Siemens Press Award Competition has launched in Serbia ten years ago and the last four years the competition is organised at the regional level. This year’s winner at the local level in Serbia is Zorica Marković, awarded for the text “How Belgrade will Develop into the Green City” which was published in the weekly newspaper Nedeljnik.

The first phase of the journalism competition, attended by representatives of the media from the twelve countries of central and eastern Europe, has been successfully realised and the best journalistic works on the topic “The Future of Cities, Industry and energy” in each participating country, while the second phase of the regional finals will be held in Vienna on 4th June.

“There are awards that are more important than prestige, and those that are special because they take into account how our life, writing or work influence the future, our own and future generations. Thanks to Siemens and the jury on the award, first of all, because they pay attention to topics that are very relevant to each of us,” said winner Zorica Marković, the winner this year’s competition in Serbia.

“Siemens Press Award competition was launched in Serbia ten years ago, and we are proud that the competition continues to live in the region. Siemens as the leader in innovation through this competition and aims to promote and affirms excellence in writing, reporting and investigative approach to journalists, and in addition to promoting topics that are important for society, our company provides the opportunity for journalists to exchange experiences and ideas with colleagues from the region,” said Jovana Vukotić, head of the Siemens communications department Adriatic region.

The ceremonial award ceremony will be held on 4th June 2019 in Siemens City, Vienna, when the best journalistic work in Central and Eastern Europe was proclaimed.
