The Novi Sad Fair and Italy signed the Partnership Agreement, which made that country an official partner of the 90th International Agricultural Fair, which will be held from 20 to 26 May.

Antonio Ventresca, Director of the Italian Trade Agency ITA/ICE, and Director General of the Novi Sad Fair, Slobodan Cvetković, signed the document in the presence of the Ambassador of Italy H.E. Luka Gori.

Over the past century, companies from Italy have been performing at the Novi Sad Fair for years, either individually or in collective exhibitions. Strong cooperation is also confirmed through the support that Italy provides as a partner country and a friendly country.

“The fact that Italy is a partner country at the International Agricultural Fair in Novi Sad can be divided into three moments. The first is the strengthening of Italy’s presence in the Balkans. The second is related to the safety of food products, and it is a sector to which the countries of the European Union are particularly dedicated, and we we see many opportunities for cooperation with Serbia in this segment. Our goal is to invest in the Balkans and in Serbia and to strengthen cooperation in the agricultural sector. The third reason why we decided to be a country partner of the Agricultural Fair in Novi Sad is our desire to have the strengthening of economic relations between Serbia and Italy and the continuation of B2B meetings that we previously organized at the Business Forum, where cooperation in agriculture was also discussed, Ambassador Gori said, and added:

“At the Agricultural Fair, we will perform with 21 exhibitors – these are the most important companies from the field of agriculture, and we will cover 500 square meters at the stands. Our Minister of Agriculture, Lolobridjida, will attend the official opening. We have decided to include the entire system of Italy in order to participate in the Novi Sad Fair. We also organized a cultural program that will last throughout the Agricultural Fair, and the Italian Institute of Culture helped us in this. The Taranta Orchestra will perform at the Opening Ceremony, while they will have a concert on May 20 in Novi Sad. They perform typical music and a special dance. It will be cinematography as well, we will organize a congress on Italian studies, we have also prepared theatrical performances and various other artistic events”.

In the end, Ambassador Gori concluded that he is sure that the relations between Serbia and Italy will be further strengthened at the Fair.
